...clean her jambs.

jamb?
![]() 09/21/2016 at 21:10 |

That's a great spot for stickers! Never thought of that.

Mine has been out of it’s garage for almost 3 months and is filthy right now.

I do better than that, I clean here, too.
This car had 155K on it.
It’s upsetting to open someone’s trunk and see years worth of pollen, leaves, and gook in the jambs. :(

Mine are incredibly dirty. What do you recommend?
![]() 09/21/2016 at 21:36 |

I don’t like seeing what’s in other people’s trunks

Juvenile lamb. Your car doesn’t come with these as an option?
![]() 09/21/2016 at 21:43 |

APC diluted for exterior use/microfiber followed by a spray detailer if the APC cleans up most of it. You can also hit it with some wax for extra protection after

lambs are already juvenile.

It's a word.
![]() 09/21/2016 at 21:45 |

It’s one of those words that look wrong. Even when they’re right.
![]() 09/21/2016 at 21:45 |

and we call them Door Marmalades here.

I finally broke down an put an M colors OPPO sticker on one of my side windows, but I had none visible for a long time.

Sure enough. I feel far less intelligent now, but I also learned something new.
I always thought lamb was just another name for sheep, not specifically young sheep.

Mine was covered in bugs from 14 hours on the road to and from Lone Star Le Mans - had to get them off!
![]() 09/21/2016 at 21:49 |

Well done, sir.
My engine bay really needs some TLC.

I think if it’s cooked and on a plate it’s used almost universally. I’ve definitely eaten mutton passed off as lamb before.

I've wipe mine pretty much whenever I wash it, so a damp microfiber usually does the job. I'd guess soapy water and elbow grease would do the job.

Nice.

I’ve sorta given up.

Never give up.

That’s some good stealth oppo
![]() 09/21/2016 at 22:17 |

Thanks. After years of no external stickers, I folded an put an M colors OPPO sticker on one of the side windows.

This made me think of Patton Oswalt’s ‘Swab My Folds’ bit.
![]() 09/21/2016 at 22:46 |

Mine does not get its jambs cleaned. It's lucky to get an auto car wash.

Y u no luv her?
![]() 09/21/2016 at 23:09 |

I don’t even wash my car any more. Between severe drought, punitive water bills, and constant ash from nearby fires lately, there’s no point. California life, yo.
![]() 09/21/2016 at 23:16 |

Got one of them dusters?
![]() 09/21/2016 at 23:32 |
|
I do, but when I come out in the morning it’s covered in condensation and dust from being parked in the driveway on a breezy, sandy street near a particularly dirty oak tree. One night and it’s done. In this respect I liked my old Outback more than the 325iT. Subarus are supposed to be dirtbag cars. It’s also the only reason I’m glad I have to sell the 325, because I do feel bad that I can’t keep it clean. I’m over having cars I care about as a daily driver, unfortunately I don’t have time or money for that at this point in life.

That sucks... I'm spoiled - garage at home and at work, so I can keep mine in good shape for days, maybe even a couple weeks at a time.

I like the door jam location for stickers. You get to enjoy stickers on your car but not travel around looking like you’re enroute to the nearest vape shop.

And your passengers get to discover fun Easter eggs!

pshhh I don't even clean the main part
![]() 09/22/2016 at 07:06 |

Because it's a beat up pos that I originally paid $300 for. Solid reason right?
![]() 09/22/2016 at 08:36 |

Pretty solid. Hope you have one to love before long!
![]() 09/22/2016 at 08:52 |

I always clean my door and trunk jambs, but almost always forget to clean here.
![]() 09/22/2016 at 09:38 |

At some point I will love my Jeep.
![]() 09/22/2016 at 10:21 |
|
That’s what I like to hear. Definitely don’t have to clean jambs to love a Jeep, just use it for what it was built for every once in a while! I make sure my car gets a good, long workout at the track or in the Arkansas Ozarks at least a few times a year.

Mines got baked on water spots.
![]() 09/22/2016 at 12:15 |
|
Will that remove water spots?
![]() 09/22/2016 at 12:23 |
|
Cleaner wax should definitely remove them, try Meguiar’s since it’s dirt cheap and readily available over the counter in most auto stores.

Someday perhaps I’ll have a garage for my daily, but at least I have one for the projects. The price I pay, I guess.
![]() 09/22/2016 at 16:27 |

If you don’t clean the door jambs AND the fender liners it’s not really clean! It’s one of those things that if they are clean you sort of over-look but if they are dirty they make an otherwise spotless car look half assed.
![]() 09/22/2016 at 16:29 |

Fender liners - now we’re getting serious!
![]() 09/22/2016 at 17:23 |

It’ll change your world man! ;-)
I have 3 cleaning mitts, 1 for the body, an older one for the wheels and door jambs and a 3rd grungy one I use on the tires and fender liners. Then 2 absorbers, one for the body and one for the wheels/jambs. And I’m MUCH less anal retentive than I used to be.
